Please email us with suggestions or individuals for our award recipients. We are looking to honor the rare individual
who became a voice for a child. A person who spoke up and defended a child.
The person might be a parent,
teacher. lawyer, judge, doctor, member of Congress or a stranger who suspected something was wrong and reported
it. Defending a child when others turned a blind eye and covered their ears is what we are about. People who work
and fight for justice deserve to be honored and know we do appreciate them.
We know that advocating for abused
children is at times extremely difficult and yet there are those who do just that.
For the wonderful people defending
children, we ask your help in identifying. Please let us know of anyone you'd like to nominate for our
The
Never So Tall Award.
We do believe One is never so tall as to when one stoops to help a child.
Our Winner for October 2008
Award
Is presented to Melissa Flores of Oklahoma.
Melissa and her sister along with the
help from BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) worked diligently to secure a proper burial for little Christopher Barnard.
While it was too late to help save his life, little Christopher will always be remembered. His life will not be
forgotten. The tragedy of Christopher is posted on this site under Oklahoma.
While Melissa was paramount
in raising the necessary fund to bury this little boy, she will carry his memory forever as she helps to get the message out
about the atrocities of child abuse.
We are pleased to have her join as in advocating for children and we applaud
her and all who contributed funds and time to remember Christopher. Always remember one is never so tall as to
when he or she stoops to help a child.
Thank you,
Defend The Children, Inc.
